Well I wanted to do a Comic of the week, but I think I'll make it a drawing of the week instead. That way I can do a little bit of everything: illustration, comic, painting etc.
K so for this week I pulled something out of the vault. A couple of years back I attempted to recreate a favorite painting of mine. The Fifer by Edouard Manet (my favorite Impressionist artist).
So I went ahead and added some more to it to make it more closely resemble the original, but not as good :P. So here it is, from left to right. The original, what was done back in the day, and what I finished recently....comments are welcome.

Portraits
Here's a more in depth look at some portraits I did and recently uploaded on my Facebook Art page.
This is the beautiful Eva Mendes...need I say more :) This one came out o.k. but some of the proportions are off and not as accurate as I would like. The technique is good but needs some working as well, but in due time as they say.
This a portrait I did for my uncle (or Tio Lupe as we in the family call him), again the technique was good but the proportions are off, and more so in this one than the previous one :(
I tried to use guidelines for this one but felt that it made me work too stiff and not as loose as I usually would like to, hence the inaccuracies in the face, but as I do them more the more comfortable I will be working on portraits.
